Prerna’s birthdate is 11/11/2001.
It looks like a pretty special date, doesn’t it?
The date also coincided with “Ekadashi” – an auspicious day in the Hindu calendar observed on the 11th day of each lunar fortnight.
Many years later, I found out that someone who made a very big positive difference in my life also has this birth date 11/11. Prerna is a big part of that story too.
But that story is so special, it has to be another blog post.
I know its wishful thinking, but I still keep looking for these numbers everywhere.
I still keep finding them and believing that it is some kind of indication.
I went to visit her in the hospital the day she was born, she was so tiny, delicate and pink.
I asked my mother if I could touch her and gently touched her cheek with one finger.
That is my first memory of Prerna. I wonder about her first memory of me ..
We didn’t have a mobile phone or digital camera back then, the first landline connection came home in 2002.
So to capture memories we would go to photo studios.
We waited till Prerna started rolling over and this first picture was taken when she was about 6 months old.

Poser all the way!
Some childhood treasures from before she started going to school –
✦ Full of life – My grandmother (our Nani) always mentions Prerna’s childhood healed her a lot. Prerna is the best thing that happened to our family.

She is about 9 months old here if memory serves me right.
This was taken on Raksha Bandhan in the year 2002.
It was a good day!
✦︎ The kindest and most empathetic kid
– She would cry if she saw anyone in the family crying or upset

Prerna’s first birthday. My father got her this yellow frock, I think she liked it!
✦︎ The smartest person I’ve ever known – there is a lot to share on that

Passport size photo taken for school admission forms. She keeps getting cuter!
This is my favorite picture of her from her early childhood.
I remember when I bought my first Android phone, this picture was my phone wallpaper for a long time, during the early period of my first job.
She has no idea how much her sparkle has helped me through life!
